In a heartfelt video message for World Continence Week, much-loved Kiwi broadcaster Jason Gunn shares his experience living with bowel and bladder issues and the impact they can have on everyday life.
Jason speaks candidly about the worry and uncertainty he felt when symptoms began affecting his daily routine, and how reaching out to Continence NZ helped him find reassurance, support, and practical advice — "They listened to me. They reassured me. They cared for me."
Reflecting on his experience, Jason says his biggest regret was waiting so long to ask for help — "I wish I'd done this earlier."
Jason's story is a powerful reminder that One Conversation Can Change Everything. Whether you're worried about symptoms, looking for answers, or simply need someone to listen, talking to the right person can be the first step towards feeling better and finding support.

A Wee Chat is simply about bringing people together to have open, supportive conversations about continence. Whether it’s with a group or just one other person, the goal is to create a relaxed, comfortable space to share experiences, start discussions using our resources, break down stigma and judgement, and encourage ongoing conversations with whānau and friends.
Our free World Continence Week 2026 digital guide brings together real stories, helpful resources, expert advice, and practical support to help get New Zealanders talking about bladder, bowel, and pelvic health. Inside, you’ll find videos, podcasts, downloadable resources, children’s activities, care pathways, and simple ways to start the conversation and access support.
